Day-of registration is available starting at 7:30AM. The race will start at 9AM. The race will start and finish at the Darby Bend Lakes entrance at Prairie Oaks Metro Park. After the race, plan to hang out in the Fan Fest area to meet local businesses and learn more about animal cruelty investigations from Columbus Humane. Your ticket price includes one race registration and a Defend Your Friend t-shirt (guaranteed to first 400 registrants).

This is a fun and casual 5K that you can run/walk with your children and dogs. If you are feeling competitive, get a fundraising team together to compete for first place, more details on fundraising below.

We are partnering with Race Penguin to make your race experience exceptional! You will be able to track your time and view race results at the end of the 5K.

Columbus Humane Agents are expertly trained and authorized to lead the community’s efforts to end animal cruelty. From responding to reports from concerned citizens, to conducting comprehensive investigations, to supporting the work of prosecutors when cases go to trial, it’s one of the most challenging aspects of our work. And one that gives us a unique perspective. Every time we answer a call to investigate a potential case of cruelty or neglect, we never know what we’ll find. But we do know that whatever we find, every animal deserves nothing less than a heroic effort.

Race Packet Pick-up

Packet pick-up will happen at Columbus Humane on September 27, 2024 during the following times below. If you cannot make it during one of those times, you can pick up your race packet the morning of the race. You may pick-up race packets for other friends and family who are also participating in Defend Your Friend, have the first and last name they registered with available.
