It’s one of the most challenging aspects of our work. And one that gives us a unique perspective. Every time we answer a call to investigate a potential case of cruelty or neglect, we never know what we’ll find. But we do know that whatever we find, every animal deserves nothing less than a heroic effort. Proceeds from Defend Your Friend provides life-saving supplies and equipment for this important work.

About Columbus Humane Animal Cruelty Investigations
Columbus Humane has the largest animal cruelty department in the State of Ohio
Columbus Humane Agents go through the most rigorous training program in the state to become a Humane Agent
Columbus Humane Agents are commissioned through Franklin County and work with the Environmental Court.
Columbus Humane is the only law enforcement agency in the county fighting animal cruelty.
Defend Your Friend 2023 Recap
On a chilly, fall morning on Octber 7th, our generous community joined us at Prairie Oaks Metro Park for Defend Your Friend 5K. Humane Agents came out to express their gratitude for supporting their work. Hundreds of pet families gathered with their four-legged best friends to support a critical mission in our community. Fun was had and impact was made. With your support, we raised over $30,000.00 for animal cruelty investigations!
